Chapter Five
Either my mind was playing tricks on me or that orange just look like Hikaru's head? I sighed and shook my head at how paranoid I was being. Here I am on Sunday at the market and I'm worried about fruit being Hikaru in disguse. Of course it could be Kaoru too...... No! I need to stop that. For this whole week I've been really paranoid about Hikaru doing something to get me to join the Host Club, but nothing hasn't happened.....yet.
That means that he's coming up with something big. Reallg big. Just great!! I sighed loudly again and tried to pick some good apples for my dad.
For this whole day he never talked to me or even mentioned school, which is odd for him because he is very stict when it comes to school. He always tells me 'Focus on school first. No boys at all! Your too young to be thinking about that stuff!' so like an obidient daughter, I listened to him.
Whenever a guy I liked or someone who liked me would ask to go on a date with me I would kindly reject him, but my dad is too paranoid when it comes to me and boys. He even suspects something when he sees me talking to a boy. I can't even have any guy friends, which is why I don't want to get involve with the Host Club. If I did somehow get into the Host Club and my dad finds out, he'll blow his head off.
I made my way to the cash register and bought all the things I got. Then I walked home, which actually wasn't that far from the market. The walk home was silent, yet peaceful. It's actually been a while since I could enjoy peaceful quiet. I took a deep breathe of the fresh air around me and tried to enjoy as much as possible before I get home.
Once I got home I started making dinner for both me and my dad and when I finshed I lightly knocked on his door and brouhgt my food to my room with me. I pushed my ear against my door to make sure that I could hear my dad get his food and when I was sure he did, I ate my food, took a shower and went to sleep for school tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did my usual morning routine, brush my teeth, fix my hair, get dressed, but something today changed. As I was about to leave for school my father called for me.
"Manami!" he yelled in his deep voice.
"Y- Yes father?" I responded.
"Where do think your going?!"
"Ummm.....school? Today's Monday dad...."
"I know today's monday! I was just wondering what place is so important that you wouldn't even ake me up and make my breakfast!"
"Ohhhhh......sorry about that dad...... I'll do that right now....." I said and slipped my shoes off and walked into the kitchen to prepare my dad's breakfaast.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I ran through the halls of Ouran, trying to make myself less late than I already am. Just my luck that my dad had to wake up and make me make him breakfast, which caused me to run late through the hallways.
I saw class 1-A up ahead slowed down my pace and began walking. Before opening the door I took a couple of deep breathes in and tried to catch my breathe. After my breathing turned back to normal I took a step inside the classroom and made my way over to my seat.
Once I sat down and got all pf my stuff out, the teacher continued the lesson as if nothing ever happened. I tried to catch up with the rest of the class, but was interuppted by the sound of Hikaru trying to get my attention.
"Pssssttttt......pssssstttttt.....pppssssssttttt!!!!" Hikaru whispered, but I did my best to try and ignore him, "Manami!! Pssstttt!!"
I rolled my eyes at him before looking over and staring at him with clear annoyance on my face, "What?!" I whispered slightly irratated.
He leaned in towards me and asked, "Why were you late?"
"Is that really what you wanted to ask me?" I wondered. I mean, I've been late plenty of time, but he never asked me why I was late before, so why now?
"Actually, no. I wanted to tell you to come to Music Room #3 (The Ouran Host Club) after school."
I looked at him suspisiously, "Why......?"
Hikaru just shrugged, "I have a suprise stored in for you, " he said with a evil grin. I slowly scooted away from him and focused back on the lesson being taught, "So?......." Hikaru asked again after a while.
"No," I replied bluntly.
He gave me a puppy dog look, "Please......"
My breathe hitched for a second when I looked at his puppy dog face, but thankfully I was able to recover...... Okay maybe not recover, but I was able to speak.......kinda, "I- Ummm...... I-...... I-"
He stopped me and answered for me, "Great. See you aronund 3:05ish then," he said with a smile and leaned away from me and settled back in his desk. But even though Hikaru isn't near me anymore, I still couldn't concentrate on the lesson at hand.
I kept replaying what he said to me over and over again in my head, thinking should I go or should I just pretend that I didn't hear him when he told me to go to The Host Club. I could tell it as a trap. No, I knew it was a trap, but for reason I still wanted to go, regarless of what might happen to me. My head kept saying 'don't go don't go', but on the other hand, I know this might sound corny, but my heart was telling me to take the risk of going to The Host Club.
What should I do? My head, the logical side of me that knew the consequences that would lie ahead if I do go, or my heart....the part of me that wants to feel alive and do something daring, instead of just staying home and studying homework and other school related things.
So what should I choose? My heart or my head? Emotion or logic? Living life or being alive? Haha, just kidding. I'm being a little over dramatic.
~~~~~~~~~~
As class finally ended I got up and was about to walk out of the door when I suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, "We'll be waiting for you," Hikaru whispered and walked out of the door with Koaru and Haruhi.
I stepped out of the classroom and looked at my left and right. If I got left then I'll be going to the Host Club, but if I go right, then I'll end up going home. Left or right? Right or left? I should go left, I finally decided. Actually, I should go right. I started my journey down away from the Host Club when I stopped in my tracks.
Then I turned around and started walking to the Host Club.
Life is about takimg risks right? Well I'm about to take one of the biggest risks in my life and something in me told me that I wouldn't regret it.
~~~~~~~~~~~ (sorry I've been doing this ~~~~~ lately. I just use it to show the time skipped)
I looked at Music Room #3 and braced myself for everything the Host Club might throw at me. I twisted the handel and stepped through to be exposed to the Host Club who was wearing robes and the music room was decorated like some southern country.
"Welcome," they all said.
But once they noticed that is was me Honey-Senpai ran over yelling, "Mana-chan! Mana-chan!"
I smiled at his cuteness and embraced him in a hug, "Hi Honey-senpai!"
"Are you here to join the Host Club?? Are you here to join the Host Club?!" he kept repeating and jumping up and down.
Awwwww!! He's just too cute and I don't want to break that little heart of his!! "Ummmmmm..........sorry senpai, but I'm just here becasue Hikaru told me to...."
He his face changed into sadness and tears threatened to escape from his eyes, "Wh- Why not?" he said, his voice sounding so sad.
Ugh! He knows just how to guilt a person, "Ummmmm...... I'll never be as good as you guys."
His face suddenly did a 180° and he turned back to happy, "Non-sense! You'll be perfect!"
"Ya....but......- look cake!" I said and pointed to a plate of starberry cake.
He turned himself so fast that I thought he might of gotten whiplash. Once Hiney-senpai spotted the cake he ran over to it and started to devoured it
After Honey-senpai went to eat his cake Hikaru and Koaru came over
"Nice to see you came back." they said as one.
"Well how can I saw no to you two?" I said sarcastically.
"Aha! I knew you loved us!"
I just rolled my eyes at them, "So why did you want me here Hikaru?" I asked even thiugh I probably knew what it,s about already.
"Well, we just wanted to give you another chance to reconsider our offer before......we do this the hard way," Hikaru said with an evil glint in his eyes.
"S- Sorry, but like I said before I'm gonna have to say no."
"Wrong answer," they both said.
I gulped and looked at the other Host Club member for help, but Honey-senpai was still eating hus cake, while Mori-senpai looked after him, Haruhi was just looking at the twins with a 'your really gonna go throught with your plan' look, and Kyouya was holding back Tamaki-senpai was struggling to be free of hiis grasp. I looked up at the twins who were smiling mischieviously at me.
I shut my eyes and placed my hands over my closed eyelids. Suddenly I felt a pair of hands on one of my shoulders andd another pair of hands onn my other shoulder. The those hands pushed my shoulders back, causing me to fall down. I expected to fall on my butt on the floor, but instead i landed on something wooden and then I heard a loud CRASH!
I removed my hands from my eyes and then opened them to find a broken vase on the floor with it's pieces scattered everwhere.
"Oooooo... Manami!!" the twins sanged, "You broke it!!!"
"N- No! It wasn't my fault! You two pushed me!"
"Kaoru, did we push Manami?" Hiakru asked.
"No, I cant' say that we did," Kaoru answered.
"B- But.... Haruhi?" Haruhi looked over and shook her head. Hmp! Well so much for girls sticking togetehr! "Honey-senpai?" I looked over to senpai who was still eating cake and Mori-senpai who was just watching his every move. Well, I guess Mori-senpai is no help either. I looked over to Kyoya-senpai who had was covering Tamaki-senpai's mouth and hilding him back. Just peachy. I looked back to the twins who looked like they were having the time of their lives, "So now what?"
"What now?" they repeated my question in unison, "Well now, you us ¥10,000,000!!" they grinned.
If my eyes were baseballs I'm pretty sure they would of been out of the park. How the fudge could one stupid vase cost ¥10,000,000 frickin' yen!! "Your joking right?"
"Actually their not," Kyoya-sepai said, "That vase that you just broke was an authentic Ming Dynasty Vase that dates back to the 1300's." the way he spoke with so calm, not even a hint of anger was in his voice. Was he crazy! I just broke a vase that costed ¥10,000,000! That's about $128,000 American dollars! How can he be so cool calm and collective!!
"So what your saying, is that it's not replaceable," I asked, trying to make sure. He gave me a glare that ran shivers down my spine and through my toes, "R- Right. Authentic. Not replaceable. Got it," I said turning around from his evil glare.
"Now Manami," Hikaru said, putting an arm around me.
"How will you ever pay off that 10 million yen?" Kaoru finished, putting his arm around my other shoulder. I seem to be getting stuck in between these two lately, but before ao could say anything they provided an idea that I knew was coming.
"You can become a hostess!!" they both yelled cheerfully. Everyone seemed to stop what they were doong and looked over at us.
"Wait!" I shouted, "This was your master plan to get me to become a hostess?!"
"Ya, why?" Hikaru asked.
"Becasue I've been anticipating something big! For this whole week I was so paranoid becasue I was afriad you'd pop out at any moment and do soemthing terrible to me, but in the end this is what you come up with!!"
Hikaru just shrugged, "Sorry to disappoint you," he said in a bored tone.
"Disappoint me?! Disappoint me?! Of course I'm disappointed! In the end all you you did was push me!" again, Hikaru just shrugged like he didn't care. Before I could yell at him again Kyoya-senpai interupted me.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, do you really think that's a good idea?" Kyoya-senpai asked.
"Screw the good idea, you never said that this was part of the plan!" Tamaki-senpai shouted, finally breking free of Kyoya-senpai's grip.
"Well, we knew if you knew the real idea," Hikaru started.
"Then you wouldn't let us go through with it," Kaoru finished.
"Your damn right we wouldn't have!" Tamaki-senpai made his way over to me pulled me into his embrace, "This is no way to treat a princess of Ouran." the twins interuptted him by pulling him away from me and throwing him someplace else.
"Trust us," they said together, "She may not look like much now--"
"Hey!" I yelled, but they chose to ignore me.
"But just let us work our magic and she will look like a real princess in the end,"
"Are you two sure your up to the challenge?" Kyoya-senpai asked, "This looks like a challenge."
"I'm still here ya' know!" I shouted, but once again, I was ignored.
"Yaa!!" Honey-senpai cheered, "Mana-chan's getting a makeover!!"
"Yes," the twins said looking at me, "We can do it!"
Before they or anyone else could say another word, they both looped their arm around mine and dragged me off to who knows where!
Either my mind was playing tricks on me or that orange just look like Hikaru's head? I sighed and shook my head at how paranoid I was being.
